Chi-Chien is a marisol type pepper from China. "Marisol" means 'growing toward the sun'.
This hot beauty is 2" long and 1/2" wide and fruits grow upwards....toward the sun. Very similar to the Tabasco pepper.
The peppers are red when ripe, but can also be used while still green.
Plants are quite sturdy, growing 2 to 2-1/2 feet tall.
Can be used fresh or dried.
Very colorful and ornamental plant. The dried fruits are easy to grind.
